Tomlinsons Rhubarb (and Farm Shop)
89 Roker Ln, Pudsey LS28 9NB
In the heart of West Yorkshire's renowned Rhubarb Triangle, Tomlinson’s Rhubarb stands as a testament to the enduring art of forced rhubarb cultivation! For over 140 years, the Tomlinson family has perfected this unique agricultural practice on their farm in Pudsey, now under the stewardship of fourth-generation grower Robert Tomlinson. The process begins with rhubarb roots maturing outdoors for two years, absorbing essential nutrients. These roots are then transferred to dark, heated forcing sheds, where they produce tender, vividly pink stalks, harvested by hand in the quiet glow of candlelight—a method that enhances their sweetness and delicate texture. Tomlinson’s Rhubarb is famous country-wide for its exceptional quality, proven by the fact they supply top-tier restaurants and markets around the country. Their commitment to traditional methods not only preserves a cherished Yorkshire heritage but also produces some of the best tasting rhubarb you can find. In season annually from approximately January to March. For more information, follow @rhubarbrobert on instagram or visit their farm shop: Tomlinson Farm Shop.
