What do you produce?
I grow flowers and willow and from these produce bunches, bouquets and arrangements, as well as a range of basketry items for the home and garden. I also sell plants that I've grown from seed or propagated here.
Where do you source your ingredients / materials from?
All flowers and foliage are grown here. If I need extra willow to fulfill workshop demand I buy in from other British growers. At Christmas, I add to my wreath foliage with Christmas trees grown locally. Even the twine that I use is locally spun.
Why do your customers love your products?
Customers comment on the fragrance of my flowers and the fact that they can buy blooms that are rarely [if ever] available in supermarkets and florists. They also never have plastic packaging waste to deal with. Being able to visit here to make their purchases means that customers can actually see plants in growth and basketry items in production in my workshop. I'm very open and transparent about what I do here and I think customers appreciate that.
What are your best selling products?
It changes with the seasons. In early spring customers love a bunch of fragrant heritage Narcissi to brighten up their homes. In late sping, my potted sweet pea plants with handmade willow supports are very popular. I've saved my own seed for years so my sweet peas are particularly suited to our local climate. Summer sees weekend flower bunches and gift bouquets. In autumn, wholesale willow wreath orders keep me very busy then in the run up to Christmas customers are buying wreaths and swags. Workshops are popular all year round.
Where can we buy your products?
Purchases can be made via my website www.cherrytreeflowerfarm.co.uk or by visiting the farm stand.
Are you open for visitors? If yes, what are your opening hours?
The farm stand is open during the growing season on Saturday mornings 10am - 1pm. Please check my social media before travelling as I may close the stand if the weather is bad,
Have you received any awards / lovely recommendations from experts (don't be shy!)?
My willow garden design was accepted and in 2023 I exhibited in the Grown and Made section of RHS Tatton Park Flower Show. I had a great deal of wonderfully encouraging feedback.
Do you sell wholesale? If so how do we get in touch with you to discuss further?
I sell basketry items such as willow wreath bases, bird feeders, Christmas decorations etc on a wholesale basis to UK independent businesses such as florists, garden centres and gift shops. Please get in touch for a price list. I do not sell flowers on a wholesale basis.
Who's the best local producer near you (except you of course!)?
There are a lot of skilled crafts people and makers in my area inluding Thirteen Furniture, Bridie Tonge Fibre Artist, and Down to Eart Natural Products.
For anyone visiting your area what's your "must see" local place?
The highly acclaimed Bury Market is only a short drive away and there are lots of lovely walks.
