Sharpham Cheese
Totnes, Devon
Sharpham Dairy, nestled in South Devon near the River Dart, has been crafting award-winning English cheeses for over 40 years. Founded in 1982 by environmentalist Maurice Ash, the dairy continues its legacy under the stewardship of Greg and Nicky Parsons, who acquired the business in 2019. In 2022, Sharpham Dairy became the first UK cheesemaker to achieve B Corporation certification, reflecting its commitment to social and environmental responsibility. The dairy produces approximately 70 tonnes of cheese annually, utilizing rich milk from their own Jersey cows, as well as sheep and goats’ milk sourced from trusted local family farms. Their range includes ten main cheeses, each a recipient of national and international awards. Notably, 70% of their production is sold within Devon, supporting the local economy. In 2024, Sharpham Dairy relocated to a state-of-the-art facility at the South Devon Food Hub in Longcombe, a collaborative space dedicated to supporting local, sustainable food and drink businesses. This move underscores their dedication to quality and community engagement. For more information or to to find where to purchase their cheeses, visit their website or follow them on social media
