Sparkenhoe Farm
Sparkenhoe Farm, Upton, Warwickshire, CV13 6JX
Located in Leicestershire, Sparkenhoe Farm is run by the Clarke family, who have farmed this land for generations. Committed to sustainable farming, they care deeply for the ecosystem and their pedigree Holstein-Friesian cattle. In 2005, they revived traditional Red Leicester cheese, which had disappeared from England in the 1950s, using an old recipe and raw milk from their herd. Made with care and traditional methods, their Red Leicester brings back the rich flavors and heritage of farmhouse cheese. In 2017, after Will Clarke returned to the farm, they diversified further by introducing a classic British rinded blue cheese, inspired by the region’s famous blue varieties. Sparkenhoe cheeses are a testament to the family’s dedication to preserving both the land and the legacy of artisan cheesemaking.
