Hello, I'm Jane Stewart.

Welcome to St Andrews Farmhouse Cheese Company. I’m Jane Stewart, and together with my husband Robert and two of our three sons, we farm our own dairy herd here in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife, using the milk they produce to make Fife's only artisan farmhouse cheeses. Since diversifying into cheesemaking in 2008, we’ve been dedicated to making cheese that truly reflects the land on which our cows graze. Our cheeses are made by hand on the family farm, using raw milk from our own Friesian-Holstein cows, which graze the fields surrounding the dairy. This close connection between the cows, the land, and the cheesemaking allows me to produce a range of cheeses with a flavour that’s unique to this beautiful part of Scotland. Our cheeses are crafted in small batches using traditional methods, including raw (unpasteurised) milk that preserves the complexity of the milk’s natural flavour & traditional animal rennet. Our St Andrews Farmhouse Cheddar, for example, is a rich and tangy cheese that’s aged to bring out its full character – something I’m incredibly proud of. Sustainability and quality are at the heart of what we do. By keeping the entire process here on the farm, we’re able to produce cheese with minimal food miles and maximum taste. You can find our cheeses at local markets, and through select retailers across the UK who share our commitment to good food. It’s a pleasure to share a piece of Fife with everyone who tries our cheeses, and I hope you enjoy them as much as we love making them.
